Our Worship Services    See also: Upcoming Worship Services  Church services are held each Sunday morning at 10:30 a.m. from mid-September through mid-June.  Usually the service is conducted by one or both of the ministers, with occasional guest speakers or lay led services. While the exact form varies with the topic or theme, music and singing are always included, along with thought provoking readings and silent meditation or prayer. There is an opportunity for those present to share the important concerns and turning points of their lives, both joyous and troubling. Children usually attend the first part of the service, during which there is an instructive story accessible to their understanding, before they depart to their classes. A longer sermon or reflection from a more mature perspective usually follows. The fellowship hour following the Sunday service is a time for sharing conversation with refreshments, and for meeting newcomers and deepening friendships. In the Summer, our regular worship services are suspended and our Summer services begin. Typically these lay led services are smaller in scale and less formal than our regular services, but provide a way to keep our connection to the church alive through the summer. More aptly called "significant Sunday sharing," these sessions will provide a time to share our joys, concerns, thoughts, and inspirations in a meaningful way. The leader usually supplies a word or phrase which leads to a group discussion that can evolve in any direction. There's no sermon or ritual, but there is a wonderful feeling of nurturing our spirits by sharing our thoughts and experiences. We start at 9:30 a.m. each Sunday, forming a circle in the Founders Room. Our church is accessible to people with disabilities.
