Our many programs and support groups...
Programs...
Children's Programs - Nursery care on Sunday mornings
and programming for children and youth of all ages provide a spiritual
community for children, as well as growth in Unitarian Universalist philosophy,
education about other religions of our community and the world, and challenges
to become responsible workers for peace, justice and the environment. More
about our religious education program.
Adult Programs - Frequent and varied adult education programs
offer a challenging and supportive context for exploring religious, spiritual,
social justice, and personal growth issues.
The Pastoral Care Network - The Pastoral Care Network bridges the gap between caring people and those in our
church community who are in need of help during difficulties. The PCN is alert
to the specific needs of our members and friends, and organizes as a caring
community so that we can build a shared ministry. Basic support services are
provided to lessen the burden on an individual or family who is dealing with a
difficult circumstance.
Hospital and homebound visits - Our ministers are always happy to visit anyone hospitalized or homebound.
They also accept invitations to visit for discussion of church matters and
concerns, or personal difficulties.
Counseling and referrals - Short-term counseling is available
from the ministers for people in difficult times including crisis, stress,
grief and illness. They are also happy to help people in their times of
joy - weddings, naming ceremonies, and other passages of life. The ministers
also make referrals to therapists, doctors, lawyers, and other professionals
in the area.
The Welcoming Congregation - A commitment to be open to
and welcoming to people of all sexual orientations, and providing ongoing
education on gay. lesbian, bisexual, and transgender issues for the congregation
as a whole. More

MUTUAL MINISTRY
SIGN UP FOR A SMALL GROUP
Have you ever felt frustrated in your efforts to make connections with
people at coffee hour after church? Have you enjoyed contributing
to church life with committee work, but would also like the opportunity
for conversation that is not focused on the tasks of running our church?
Have you wanted to participate in adult religious education opportunities,
but don’t have time to prepare or the limited time slots don’t fit your
schedule? Do you find it difficult to get to know new people or maintain
connections with friends in our growing church? Would you like to
serve your church and the greater community in the joyful company of other
people? Would you like to give support to those in need and receive
support when you are going through difficult times? Would you like
the opportunity for thoughtful conversation about the ultimate questions
in your life? Would you like to participate in a mutual ministry that honors
your gifts?
If any one of these questions resonates with you, I invite you to participate
in Small Group Ministry here at UUCM. Small group sessions combine
worship, sharing of joys and concerns, religious education, and opportunities
for thoughtful reflection and spiritual deepening. The connections
made in your small group create a network of care for members of each group,
as well as a way to increase the power of your individual efforts to serve
our church and the larger community. Groups will meet every two weeks
for six months, starting in April through September. Pick your favorite
meeting time among six options: Sunday, 6:30-8:30 p.m., Monday, 7-9 p.m.,
Tuesday, 7-9 p.m. (New Boston), Tuesday, 7-9 p.m. (Milford), Wednesday,
7-9 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m.- 11a.m. Pick up a sign-up card
and drop it in the box by the garden door at church, or give Rev. Barbara
McKusick Liscord a call 673-1870 with your first, second and third time
preferences.
Whoever you are and wherever you are on your spiritual journey, we
welcome you to this shared ministry.
Rev. Barbara McKusick Liscord

purpose of this group is the work of creating things for the annual Holiday
Fair, in fact it is a lively and caring group of people who open their
hearts. as their hands are busy with needle, thread, scissors or glue.
They meet Monday mornings, 9:30 to about 12 noon.
Sacred Circle Dancing - On second and fourth Thursdays,
7:30-9:30 p.m., simple, centering dances are taught and shared.
