An idea you’d like to see someone else lead? Write it on your registration form or call Jon Frank 582-2775.

A note about kids:
Children and teens are welcomed with open arms at Ferry Beach– it’s a great place to play. Anyone under age 18 must be accompanied by a parent or other adult who accepts full responsibility for them.

NEW POLICY ON ALCOHOL
Our survey from 2005, showed that the majority of participants would like to have wine and beer at the appetizer hour, so this will be permitted. Please follow these ground rules:
--
You may bring your own wine or beer only. It is to be consumed only during the appetizer hour.

-- During the rest of weekend, all bottles should be kept in your locked car. Before going into dinner on Saturday night, take your bottles back to your locked car.
-- No one under the age of 21 may have beer or wine, even if they are allowed to do so at home.

The Accommodations:
Rooms:
We charge by the room, which means that single adults who are willing to share a room can share the cost of the room, and save themselves some money. If you plan to share a room, please explain on your sign-up sheet so we can keep an accurate room count.

We have reserved the Quillen and Underwood buildings to provide sleeping quarters. The high school students bunk together in the loft above Quillen. No one under or over high school age may sleep in the loft. (Quillen is the main building which also has the kitchen and dining room.)

Quillen has 4 beds (2 sets of bunkbeds,) in most rooms, with 6 beds in a couple rooms (reserved for large families.) Most rooms in Underwood have 3 beds. Anyone with small children gets a preference on Quillen; anyone who has difficulty with stairs gets a preference on Underwood.

Camping:
There is a lovely camping area in a picturesque picnic grove a very short walk down the road.  You must provide your own tent or camper.

Other Options:
If you prefer bigger beds or more privacy, or if our rooms fill up, nearby accommodations are:
Christina’s B&B:  (207) 282-7483
Saco Motel:  (207) 284-6952

Cleaning Service Back by Polular Demand
Our survey showed most people wanted to continue hiring a cleaning service for the final cleanup, so it shall be done!

Last year, we filled every room, so register early to ensure your spot!

If you need financial assistance, speak to Carol Hess as soon as possible so we can mark you down as paid and reserve your place.

How Much Does It Cost?
To make things as fair as possible, we have divided the charges between sleeping accommodations (bedroom or camping) and “facility” fees (use of kitchen, auditorium, and beach) with the idea that campers shoulder an equal share of facility costs. We have to rent the facilities for two nights, so we must charge for two nights of accommodations even if you are not arriving until Saturday.

There will be a discount available to those who pay in full prior to June 15th (the last regular worship service before summer).    You may register at church any Sunday between May 6th and June 15th, or mail your registration.

Accomodation Fee:
Weekend Room Fee: $110 if paid by June 15th (last Church Service Sunday)
$130 if paid after June 15th
Weekend High School Room Fee: $10 for the first HS student, $5 for each additional one
Weekend Camping Fee:   $45
Facility Fee:
Weekend Facility Fee: $15 per adult
$10 per High School student
$5 per child over 5 years and under High School age

One-day Only Facility Fee: $10 per adult
$5 per High School student
$5 per child over 5 to High School age

Cancellation Fee: If you find it necessary to cancel your registration after August 22th, a $20 registration fee will be retained.

Financial Assistance:
Ferry Beach is an important part of our church community activities and hence should not exclude UUCM members and friends who are unable to afford the full costs. If you need help meeting the expenses, please speak to Carol Hess. All requests are confidential.

Be Part of the Team and Have Some Fun!

From Massachusetts: Take I95 north to Portsmouth.

From Portsmouth, N.H.: Take I-95 north into Maine (becomes the Maine Turnpike). Take Exit #36 (old Exit #5) labeled Saco and Old Orchard Beach. When you leave the tollbooth, you will be on the turnpike extension (I-195.)

Follow the extension to its end where it merges with a road coming in from the right, and becomes Rte 5 (Ocean Park Road.) Continue for about a quarter mile to a “Y” intersection and bear to the right onto Temple Ave, keeping the 7-11 Store on your left. Continue for about a mile, through the Ocean Park Conference Center, to a 4-way stop with an overhead blinking light. Turn right onto Route 9 (Grand Ave).

Continue on Grand Ave. for a total of about 2 miles. (Ignore signs for Ferry Beach State Park and bear to the left to stay on the main road.) A little ways past the sign for the State Park, you will see a large brown and blue sign on the right saying Ferry Beach Park Assoc.”  Turn left at the sign and drive to the end of the street. Our weekend “headquarters” will be in Quillen, the large green building on your right. We’ll leave the lights on for you!
