Our Committees

Aesthetics Committee is responsible for weekly sanctuary decorations and other church appearance and decorating issues.

Children's Program Committee plans and facilitates the Church for Children program.

Cloister Garden Committee coordinates the enhancement and maintenance of the gardens and grounds.

Committee on Church Relations provides support and feedback to the minister and becomes involved whenever issues arise around how we minister to one another.

Finance Committee prepares the annual budget and conducts the canvass. They regularly review the budget and act on all other financial issues.

Membership Committee ensures that new and prospective members are welcomed and receive information they request about our faith and our
church.  Membership also oversees fellowship activities.

Nominating Committee identifies candidates for church offices and committee chairs, seeking to fill crucial vacancies whenever they occur.

Partner Church Committee focuses communications with our partner church in Szentmihaly, Transylvania (Romania), and identifies opportunities for assistance and cultural exchange.

The Pastoral Care Network - The Pastoral Care Network bridges the gap between caring people and those in our church community who are in need of help during difficulties.  The PCN is alert to the specific needs of our members and friends, and organizes as a caring community so that we can build a shared ministry.  Basic support services are provided to lessen the burden on an individual or family who is dealing with a difficult circumstance.

Property Committee is responsible for maintenance of the church building and grounds, including snow removal, lawn mowing and repairs.

Social Responsibility Committee provides a means for church members and friends to address social justice issues both within and beyond the church community. We are guided in our efforts by the Principles and Purposes of the Unitarian Universalist Association.

Stewardship Committee promotes year round awareness of how we live our UU Principles and UUCM Covenant in relationship with out church, local community and world.  It oversees the annual stewardship campaign to fund the operations of the church and is working closely with representatives from the UUA Office of Congregational Fundraising Services during 2008-2011 as part of a demonstration projectof a new Stewardship Program called Forward   Through The Ages (FORTH).

Welcoming Congregation Committee ensures that we continue to welcome the presence and affirm the experience of GLBT persons and their families, through education within our congregation and outreach to the broader community.

Worship Committee works with the minister to plan for weekly services, guest speakers, summer worship meetings and special events such as the Seder dinner.
