Committee on Church Relations

What is the Committee on Church Relations (CCR)?
The purpose of the CCR is to strengthen the quality of ministry in our congregation.  CCR serves as a support group for the minister, and as a communication channel between the minister and the congregation.  CCR’s mission supports our UU principles that affirm "acceptance of one another" and "the use of the democratic process within our congregations".  The most important functions of the CCR are:

  • To help the minister carry on an effective ministry by being available for counsel;
  • To keep the minister advised about conditions within the congregation as they affect relations between minister and members, with its main thrust being to strengthen and improve relationships;
  • To listen to members of the congregation and staff who have concerns that are not addressed by the minister, council or other committees.
    Some of the issues brought to the CCR in the past have included the need for a wheelchair ramp, and the flying of the Rainbow Flag.
