A scientific musical comedy brainstorm »

You started a brainstorm of scientific fascination at our school.
--- Chicagoland Principal

“My students have not stopped talking about the show.”

“Visually stunning, scientifically inspiring!”

A musical comedy with audience participation integrating:

• STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math)

• Common Core Standards for Math

• 'Character Counts!' (Respect, Responsibility)

The character of Spark (of Inspiration) arrives to give Edison the spark he needs to develop his next invention.  The two characters embark on an exploration of the inventor’s greatest achievements. First stop, the phonograph.  During this sequence Spark and Edison demonstrate how to record sound. The students become a “living” phonograph making their own recording of “Mary Had a Little Lamb.” (the first recording Edison ever made). The pair then explore the challenge of developing the lightbulb.  The students assist Edison as they become the elements of an electrical circuit. Finally, Spark inspires Edison to develop motion pictures.

EDISON  is by Face to Face Productions which produces in-school participatory musicals addressing the Common Core Standards, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math), Character Counts Values and PBIS (Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports). For 28 years Face to Face Productions has produced original musicals which engage, enlighten and entertain school audiences with the artistic quality equal to "field trip" productions in large venues (at a fraction of the cost). To paraphrase Ben Franklin "A video is worth a thousand words." Check out clips from all of our shows on You Tube (Search under "Face to Face Productions" and the title of each show). You will see why 100 schools in the Chicagoland area alone have invited us back for at least 18 of the last 28 years.
