Environmental Circus »
I'm not sure that I've ever enjoyed a circus more than Fragile Planet: the combination of outstanding artistry, scientifically accurate information and the sheer enthusiasm of the performers create a unique, thoroughly enjoyable experience. --- Professor Barry Chernoff, Director of Environmental Studies, Wesleyan University
Circus for a Fragile Planet is an exciting small circus with a strong environmental message. The wacky Austrian scientist Professor Offli Varminhere is presenting a one-man-show on global climate change when his presentation is disrupted by three clowns called the Fossil Fools. In the hour of mayhem that ensues the audience is treated to physical comedy, juggling, unicycling, stilt dancing and an intelligent exploration of vital environmental issues facing the human race. Great for all ages; this is a show that inspires audience members young and old to take action on a personal and community level to preserve the planet.
Shakespeare's Argument is an entertaining and innovative introduction to Shakespeare for junior high school through adults. In addition to excerpts from over a dozen of Shakespeare's plays, the four actors comically debate what exactly it is that makes Shakespeare so great. This is a terrific way to overcome "Shakespeare block" and bring the Bard's work to life for contemporary audiences.
Residencies offered by ARTFARM include Introduction to Circus Arts, Circus for a Fragile Planet Hands-On, Shakespeare Alive!,Thirty Minute Midsummer Night's Dream, Commedia dell' Arte and Ensemble-Created New Work.
