These truly are WONDERFUL one of a kind shows!!!!
--- Esther Malone

Through a unique interpretation by African American musicians of Black South African music Rochelle and BOITUMELO introduce aspects of South African culture and history still widely unknown to the western world.

The songs presented in the concert/ program are the brainchild of many years of performances by Rochelle Rabouin. The songs are from the ZULU and XHOSA people, as well as Swahili, Ga, Yoruba and Igbo. All of these languages are musically accented abounding in rich vowel sounds and a wide variety of consonants borrowed from the sounds of nature….which lend themselves to songs. Most of the songs in the program are what would be classified as "functional" folk songs, songs that carry an important message or lesson. All the songs performed were originally sung and recorded by MIRIAM MAKEBA, the South African singer/activist who, through her music helped to eliminate Apartheid in South Africa.. (This program is visual and includes segments with audience participation.)

A unique, interactive, 3 to 6 part course. Each class period is from 1 hour to 1 ˝ hours.

Using a 30 year bell collection the audience will learn the History, Traditions and Uses of Bells from around the world in this program.

Solo or Duet only program (Three -60 minutes sessions or One -90 minute program) The
