PUPPET LIFE! A Festival of Marionettes & Hand Puppets! This show is a wonderful celebration of life. Through the magic of puppetry, these figures come alive to teach lessons of love, beauty, and triumph. We enjoy putting this show on because acknowledges our interconnectedness as human beings! In addition, it showcases the art of Puppetry and it’s unique ability to communicate profound thoughts and emotions. The audience will be stunned by the things these puppets can do. Some of the puppets featured are: A Stretching Clown, A Beautiful Phoenix, An Eccentric Wizard, A Transforming Princess, and Much More! This show breaks the fourth wall. The puppets in this show are great improvisers; they interact directly with the audience. You and your loved ones will be mesmerized by this energized performance. The puppets and marionettes are manipulated with beauty and grace. In addition to a great show, the audience will be treated to a Bowens Puppets Introduction to Puppetry Demonstration and a Q&A session.

James has been a professional puppeteer for the past 8 years. He has performed with many illustrious puppet theater troupes in The Northeastern United States. He has performed in traditional and experimental puppet plays. Companies to his credit include: The Bennington Marionettes, The Swedish Cottage Marionette Theater, Bread & Puppet, Puppetworks Inc., and The Czechslovak American Marionette Theater. He is a co founder of Philadelphia based Commedia dell Arte troupe Pasta Shock! Mr. Bowen is a seasoned street performer. He has appeared in parades in Boston, New York, and Philadelphia. James is a talented puppet artist. He creates all of the Bowens Puppets figures, stages, and scenery himself. He founded Bowens Puppets with the vision of creating an intimate dialogue with his audience through the magic of puppetry. Mr. Bowen strives to awaken audiences to the common bonds we have with one another. He currently resides in the Fishtown area of Philadelphia, Pa.
