Thank you so much for coming to our school. Your excellent storytelling has been one of the highlights of our year. --- An elementary school teacher.
As Jack's Mama, Clifton tells the traditional tales of the southern Appalachians. In Tales from East of the Equator, she tells international, multi-cultural stories. She features stories from the British Isles in Faeries and Brownies, Strangers and Waifs. And Sarah Farley Remembers... America's early history. As Jack's Mama and Sarah Farley, Clifton wears the attire of a pioneer woman and sometimes plays the mountain dulcimer.
Clifton also presents workshops, including Telling Tales in School: Integrating Storytelling Across the Curriculum and Do Tell, Kids!, a workshop to help students develop their own storytelling skills and implement their telling tools, including voice dynamics, movement, and facial expression.
