I liked it when he played the electronic sax. That was cool!
--- Jeff Summers, second grade (Northwest Elementary School)

Saxophonist Kevin Pike has created a History of the Saxophone school show intended for grades K-6. In his show, he talks about and performs examples of the different styles of music that the saxophone has been a part of since its inception in 1845.

The program includes music by Beethoven, John Philip Sousa, Count Basie, Paul Desmond, the Coasters, Charlie Parker and Kevin Pike. Musical styles range from classical and march music to jazz, blues, rock 'n' roll and fusion. The program is 40 minutes long and features lots of audience participation.

In the show, Kevin plays both alto saxophone and electronic saxophone along with background music on CD. Kevin supplies his own sound system for the performance.
