The Fairytaler, an elegant lady from the sea dressed in gowns and jewels, presents dramatic interactive shows using fifteen to twenty pre-selected students to play the parts in the productions. These students, in a forty-five minute character workshop prior to the show are costumed and coached by The Fairytaler and her assistant. No changing involved, provided costumes fit over their clothes. After the workshop these students are weaved into the production by The Fairytaler with the aid of her assistant as they perform for their fellow classmates, parents and teachers.
The Fairytaler productions engages students in individual and group creative imagination, problem solving, critical thinking and evaluative skills while providing the opportunity for understanding and appreciation of theatre skills.
Programs for elementary schools include schools performances, parent-teacher association events, television shows, teacher-training and development programs, student workshops, and artist-in-residence programs. Your schools' themes can be integrated into any of the twenty shows available if desired - for example: Reading, multi-cultural, holiday, earth day, mental health, and drug awareness.
Pauline Faneuf, a professional actress, has been entertaining stage audiences since she was six years old. A member of The American Federation of Radio and Television Artists, she has had a variety of roles from a neighborhood lady in The Family Channel's, Big Brother Jake, to mysterious mother, Gertrude Cayce, in Unsolved Mysteries. As a storyteller, she has performed at the Helen Hayes Gallery at the National Theatre in Washington, D.C. Degreed in elementary education and speech-theatre, she has written and produced over twenty shows for stage and television, taught at universities her courses in Fairytaling, presented at annual conferences for parks and recreational specialists, counselors, teachers and librarians. Ms. Faneuf completed teaching sessions at Georgia Southwestern College in Americus, Georgia and at Albany State College in Georgia. The Fairytaler's tours include performances and presentations at fairs and festivals, schools and libraries in twenty states from Texas to Vermont. Pauline Faneuf, as The Fairytaler, appears in glittery gowns and jewels and presents a fairytale with active participation from members of the audience using props and costumes, magical melodies and delightful dances. Pauline Faneuf, as The Fairytaler, continues to entertain thousands of children and adults at festivals, states fairs, schools, libraries, museums, conferences and universities throughout the country.
