Speaker/Performing Arts Agency »

Over the years we have hand-picked a group of writers, thinkers, and performers whose work is of the highest quality. Whether on stage, in a classroom, or an informal setting, they travel in the light. They are their own people and their talent shines.

We proudly recommend to you our speakers and performers. They are dedicated men and women and committed craftsmen to their various arts: song, dance, theatre, literature, self-esteem, social justice, health, journalism.

Please visit our web page, www.bickley.com, and look under "Authors & Speakers" or "Performers." Then e-mail us at tbickley@netaxis.com or call us at 203-966-5216.

We also under the label TBM Records produce a spoken word audio series entitled "Frederick Douglass's Greatest Speeches" with Fred Morsell. Microsoft is featuring a segment from "The Meaning of the 4th of July for the Negro," also known as "Frederick Douglass's 5th of July Speech," in its updated Encarta Multimedia encyclopedia, to be published in October. We are considering offering to schools a total teaching package, which includes lesson plans for the speeches, plus the recording. Please let us know your interest. We have to have a critical mass to proceed with the lesson plans, to be prepared by experienced social studies teachers.

Since 1991, we have provided outstanding social studies, Black History and academic assemblies to private, public, parochial and jail schools across the United States. We believe that the hearts, minds and souls of children are precious, to be respected and nourished. We are committed to helping your school find that very speaker or performer who evokes from you, "Ah, yes, that's it!"
