The Pure Drop plays traditional Irish music. From lively reels to soulful slow airs, with a few songs for good measure. Fiddler Roger Burridge and Uilleann piper Patrick Hutchinson have developed an intense and tight style of playing together, and are well-known for their solo and duet playing. Mance Grady is a fine multi-percussionist, playing mostly bodhran and bones with the group. He recently released a solo CD, which has been very well received. Mike Shorrock on bazouki, guitar and vocals has been playing all over the U.S. for many years. His strong rhythmic backup rounds out the band's driving sound.
