I haven't laughed so hard since I went to see Bill Cosby! --- --Sherry Pullen, teacher, Ashton Elementary, Mason County Reading Council
The Mountain Women are a tandem team of tellers who have a combined 36 years experience in working with children of all ages in the area of education. It is our desire to bring to life the wonderful Appalachian heritage that so many of us share. Using props, dialect, costumes, poetry, songs, comedy and drama, we endeavor to weave together a beautiful tapestry from which we can all learn a little something about where we came from and where we are today. Our programs, which run from 50 minutes to one hour, are fast-paced, participatory, energetic and just plain fun! We have several programs, depending on audience make-up, telling in tandem or individually. All of our programs, flavored with the taste of Appalachia, are family oriented and appeal to all age groups. .....
Audiences agree, The Mountain Women will have you laughing one minute and crying the next! Darla Schorr, Librarian, Milanof-Schock Library in PA said, "Thank you so much for being part of National Library Week for us. We will never forget you and look forward to seeing you again...comin' round the mountain!" Wes Roy, assistant to the President of Cumberland College, Williamsburg, KY gave this endorsement, "The faculty and students of Cumberland College found the presentation of The Mountain Women to be wholesome, lighthearted and certainly entertaining. I believe people of all ages would enjoy them. The ladies are a gracious group to work with." Brenda Beall, Media Specialist in Kissimmee, FL wrote, "Your performance was the 'pea-pickinest' best I've ever scheduled for our school!"
