This is one of the most unique programs I've ever seen! The kids retain the info in both the music and drawing lessons. We really look forward to seeing Steve again. Barbara D'Amato, Teacher, Willowdale Elementary School Warminster, PA
Steve not only entertains with his music and art, but he educates the children at the same time. Steve has a gift for relating to children of all ages and totally mezmorizes them! The Cool Beans Music and Art program is a favorite at our school with the children, parents, and teachers. Marie A. Pletcher, Director, Wee Folks Child Care and Learning Center, Lansdale, PA ---
Program Title: The Cool Beans Music and Art Programsm (Singing and Drawing Combination Enrichment Program)
Instructor: Singer /Illustrator Steve Pullara Running Time: 60 minutes (running time can be adjusted to fit programming schedule) Program: Instructor sings high energy interactive songs on his guitar with children. These songs will be a traditional and original mix of songs for 30 minutes that teach: rhyming, word with sound associations and exercises in a fun way. After that portion, the next 25 minutes are learning to draw (popular cartoon characters, dinosaurs, animals, etc.) with the letters of the alphabet by following the instructor with his large pad on a big easel. These drawings are usually themed to the season or week. The session's drawings will also be a spelling lesson of the object drawn. The last 5 minutes of the program ends with a sending song to give closure to the session.
Goal: This program has been used by educators effectively through the years to build: Listening Skills, Self Esteem and Interactive Community thru a shared experience. After each program, children come away with up to three finished art pieces to take home and a memorable time shared with other children through art and music.
Planning Notes: The best age groups for this program without a parent or guardian present are children ages 5-10. All music and drawings are tailored to each developmental stage.
With the Cool Beans Music and Art Program tm facilitated by Artist and Musician Steve Pullara, students (elementary students K-8, students with learning disabilities and students with physical challenges) will learn various methods for articulating their thoughts and feelings through two art forms combined into one assembly: music and visual art. Unlike many School Assembly programs that offer art and music discretely, this session blends the two. Children come away with fresh approaches to song, drawing and personal creative expression. Also, this program has long been effectively used by educators to: build listening skills, self-esteem and community spirit through a shared creative experience. The Cool Beans Music and Art Program is an unconventional approach to the arts with two simple goals in mind: to instill a love of the arts and inspire creativity.

Steve Pullara is a Philadelphia based New Jersey born singer/songwriter/artist whose musical roots go deep within many cultural traditions.
In his music you could hear influences from Tom Paxton to Louis Prima, while his mix of drawing and singing harken the days of the Gene London and Sandy Becker TV shows from the 50's & 60's. With many years of entertaining kids and families under his belt in the Philly area, he is comfortable with this niche and very at home with his audience. Often, Steve is seen entertaining at schools, hospitals and festivals sharing his talents. At these sites you can find him entertaining solo or with his band called: Steve Pullara and His Invisible Friends. He's also entertained on NBC's Children's Miracle Network Telethon for two years, helping them to raise money for Children's Hospital in Philadelphia.
Philadelphia and national disc jockeys (Radio AAHS, NPR and WXPN to name a few) have widely used his songs to break up their formats with his list of topics ranging from Potatoes to Bananas and from Aliens to Elephants . Typically, Steve's music is spirited and zany crossing over into many diverse avenues ranging from Folk to Bluegrass. This eclectic diversity makes his music very appealing to a wide audience from kids to adults. Steve has two albums entitled, One Potato Two Potato and Hop Like a Frog! on the Cool Beans Music label.
They're available in many local and major national retail stores. He's distributed by Rounder Kids: 1-800-443-4727.
