Whether storytelling, lecturing, singing, conducting a workshop or presenting a historical drama, Coggswell frequently moves her audiences to tears and/or laughter. She is in demand for school assemblies, festivals, young authors conferences and book fairs.

This animated storyteller sings, drums, uses props and puppets to compliment her family sagas, personal experiences, animal tales, historical narratives, self-esteem building stories, myths, legends and folk tales.

She is also in demand as an in-service facilitator.

Her children's workshops include reader theater programs, writing programs and what's your learning style? funshops. Coggswell is also available for book signings.

Gladys Coggswell loves people and whether telling in China or Chicago, she has received much love . She is a full time professional storyteller and Missouri's current official Master Storyteller through the Missouri Traditional Art Apprenticeship Program. Her apprentices through this program have graduated to professional status. She is a generous mentor and the founder of By Word of Mouth Storytelling Guild. Internationally recognized for her ability to capture the hearts and imaginations of her listeners, she is committed to making a positive difference in whatever space she occupies. Coggswell is a former radio show host and has received numerous awards, proclaimations, letters of appreciation and standing ovations. She is the creator and facilitator of Holistic Teaching/Learning Through The Art of Storytelling workshops and institutes for teachers. Children adore her and don't want her to leave their school. She is also the author of Why There Are No Dragons - a color and keep storybook for children.
